better get a repair manual , it will show you how with pictures :)

l own a repair shop,and there r makes at the top,on the cam,gear,and there r also marks on the bottom of it,,you need to have them pointing at there pointers,,they have a small indent on the head & one on the bottom crank area that u use as an alignment,,once these r aligned up u can put the belt on,,there kind of hard to get to stay in place especially on the top one,,it will want to slip on u just make sure it stays,,and that is it release the tension er,and it should be right in time,you need a good repair manual for this vehicle also,,there very help full especially on a Subaru,,advance auto parts can get u a good one for it,,get a Haynes there good ones,,good luck l hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
