where is the fuel pump located on a 1998 Subaru impreza rs

Probably in the fuel tank!

Most are in the Fuel Tank now. To be sure you can follow the Fuel line and all you should find is the Filter, probably located along the Firewall. Also, take off the Filler cap on the tank and listen, have someone turn on the key, but, not start the Vehicle, you may hear it build up pressure and shut off.

It is located in the tank on the passenger side.There are 2 access panels under rear cargo floor,just behind rear seat to get to pump and sending units.
